  • Weather: Pretty Shitty
  • Music or Noise: This airplane flying ove rmy house...
  • Item of the Moment: An... Airplane

Do I want to be brutally honest? After-all, every person from Trios and everywhere else can read this... Nah, let's just forget about it. Nessa is a very unique person, usually cares about other people...

Except today. *shrug*

Anyway, life is truly full of surprises, as well as my curiosity. Why are people afraid to post here? Oh well, I think that's the main reason my Journal was flushed down the drain.

I mean, people don't want to read the woeful hunks of crap a teenager writes, right?

How sad... And please, tell me if anyone has a problem with me swearing. Offending people has been seeming to come naturally.

Blah... The put-out thoughtness of it! ///

  • Mood: I have no idea
  • Weather: Warm, no sun.
  • Music or Noise: The eletrical hum of my many appliances. *Prays power won't go out*
  • Item of the Moment: A... Hammer

Ah... How I am loving life. The simple confusion is part of it. The wonderful problems that arise and the wonders..../// Okay, retake, why so depressed you ask? I'm putting you in my trust; I am not depressed, merely observing the sad truth.

However! I am happy to say that I just ate a Mars bar, a very special Mars bar indeed. Naturally, my stomach spoke before my common sense and I didn't bother to read the newly founded winning probability on the package. I've passed that point. I never win.

So, in my haste to eat this chocolate bar, I tore open the package, savoring the moment (lol) and then... Poof! There's red writing all over the inside! Stupid me however, the wrapper was ripped, top to bottom. After finding some scissors and patience I cut open the wrapper entirely, only to find out that I needed tape. There's no way I can read this!

After much confusion and silent swearing the excitement was setting in... Then... "Congratulations, you have won a Free 58g Mars Bar." Four flies could have flown in my mouth in the time I sat there, processing this information. Then, *smack* down on the desk, a fake smile illuminating my face.

Brilliant... A free 58g Mars bar... Of course, only 58 grams...Ah... the simple life....

Am I being selfish??  Afterall, they have about 5000 words explaining the rules to this teeny contest... Then again, when I told my dad, he smiled and said. "Wow! Really!?"

He's so cool... So much more enthusiastic than me... *sigh*

Just... Me!

  • Mood: Uhh, happy?
  • Weather: Actually nice! (For once!)

Hello!

I've been S-U-P-E-R busy lately! Easter was fun but it was mostly for my little sister and cousins. They enjoyed all the attention and LOVED the Easter bunny (and choclates! Yummm)

Anyways, school has been uneventful except for my Religion project which I just got back today! I got 23/25 for my "Con" topic (Should Religion be Taught in Schools)

Surprisingly, my religion teacher didn't pick sides and actually TRIED to see the situation from my point of view.

Oh well, will write more later!

Bye for now!

Should Religion be Taught in Schools?

  • Mood: Eh...
  • Weather: Sunny and snow is FINALLY melting!
  • Music or Noise: I dunno...
  • Item of the Moment: A Circus Tent!

That's the title of a project I have to do for my Ecumenical Class and it's in a form of a debate. (Pro & Con)

I got the assingned part of "Con" therefore, for the debate, I'm against having religion being taught in schools.

This [religion] is a very strange topic to discuss and explore because so many different people have so many different views on it!

What do you think about Religion being taught in schools?

(P.S. I've already written my project as the Con side but I'm not sure I should post it yet)

The wish - Joke

  • Mood: Happy!
  • Weather: Still Cold! Isn't it March??
  • Music or Noise: I dunno...
  • Item of the Moment: A Spoon!

Subject: The Wish

A married couple in their early 60s were out celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant. Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table and said
"For being such an exemplary married couple and for being faithful to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish."
"Ooh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband," said the wife. The fairy sprinkled a little fairy dust and - voila! - two tickets for the new QM2 luxury liner appeared in her hands.

Then came the husband's turn. He thought for a moment and said: "Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this only occurs once in a lifetime, so, I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me." The wife and the fairy were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish... so the fairy sprinkled a little fairy dust and -voila! - the husband instantly became 92 years old. The moral of this story: Men might be greedy... but fairies are female!!!

I thought this was too funny not to post!

Reality Check : Animal Abuse - Chickens

  • Mood: Tired, as usual...
  • Weather: Cold and Icy...
  • Music or Noise: Humming of computer and TV blaring downstairs...
  • Item of the Moment: The Canadian Flag... because I'm proud to be Canadian!

This topic bothers me a lot. It's not like I'm a fanatic animal lover, it's just that I honestly believe animals are not treated with respect anymore! Not only domestic animals, that's for another time...

You always hear about those stories of the first humans (as in American Indians), only killing when they needed and using everything of the animal. They also thanked Mother Nature for providing them. And now?

Now they have chickens in a Egg Producing plants, boxed together so tightly you wonder how they got in there in the first place. Sure, you've got to make your money and it's a Multi-Million dollar business but the situations in which the chickens are thrown into, well, that's just awful!

I'm proud to say that I have my own chickens in my own barn. I don't call them organic chickens but at least I know what they're eating (sure, a couple worms here and there, maybe some pebbles) but that makes me feel better. (Knowing that they are well cared for and not force fed their own kind)

I respect the fact that not everyone can have chickens in their backyard, it just that, what has our world come to in the sense of... chickens???

BTW! It's not only chickens that are being treated this way!!...

But, the real question is... What could we do to help this fast-growing problem???

Reality Check : McDonalds

  • Mood: Grossed out
  • Weather: Sunny but Cold
  • Music or Noise: Clicking of the keyboard....
  • Item of the Moment: A Newspaper

Okay, Here is my first Reality-Check! McDonalds!

Alrighty then... Some of you may not agree but I've heard a lot of bad stuff about McDonalds that's not always a pleasure to hear.

---> Not only that but come on, we have to admit this at some point, Americans are not eating healthy anymore and we see a lot of health problems due to that.

Some stuff I've heard about McDonalds that's not too great...

1- They now make their chicken nuggets with white meat. Well, what was it before?

2- Many rumors have been floating around about chicken heads in the chicken nuggets... Well, is this one of them? (http://www.truthminers.com/truth/fried_chicken.htm)

3- I remember going to McDonalds once with my little sister and while waiting for her order to be placed through I decided to count how many people went into the French Fry bin. It was a busy day and I counted about 10 people, sometimes the same person, but what shocked me the most is that everytime somebody went to get fries, they'd rain the others down with salt! 10 times to the same batch! I mean, don't get me wrong, salty fries are awesome! But we won't want to worry about popping an artery while eating them...

4- One word : Veggie Burgers (Oops! That was 2 words!) But seriously! This is a worldwide meat-network! Do you really believe that those are veggie burgers? And even if they were, what in the world are they made out of!?

5- Sure, McDonalds has its "Low Fat" menu but honestly, if all that food is made in the same place, can they really guarantee that they didn't mix some weird chicken let-overs into your meal? I can almost hear some of the people out there saying, "But that's a risk you have to take while eating at a fast food restaurant."

Sure, tell me that again when you're dying of heart-failiure! Until McDonalds tries to clean up its act!Sure, they've tried before but changing their logos on us every 10 years won't do it!

Examples:

No offense but, the people who keep international McDonalds opened are none other than... The Americans and Canadians   I mean this: We go to Italy on Vacation and we see a McDonalds! Well all-be damned! There's all these fancy restaurants all around it with excellent food and really interesting cultures and we go to... MCDONALDS! Yumm!

So, what do you think???? Am I being too harsh? Or not harsh enough?

Hello! Okay, basically what I added was my Role-Playing site to the "Where to?" section of this Journal. (http://gyldenhalo.proboards40.com/ )

It's like a new addition to everything and I will be spending a lot more time on it than this place *gestures to purple surroundings*  See? I'm in my role-play mood already!

Anyways... I've also decided to use this Journal as a "Reality Check" so come back soon to see what I'm talking about!

Byebye for now and just to let you know, my RPG is still under-construction! Thanks
